Well... yes! I realized how much I loved making style sheets for my copyediting clients, and how much they raved about them. So why not turn that superpower into a standalone service? 

I call it a story database (also known as a story bible), and it's where I round up all the details in your book in one handy spot (along with the chapter it appears in) so that you can actually find stuff when you're drafting books 2, 3, and beyond in your series.

Who is this for, anyway?

Mainly for indie sci-fi and fantasy authors who are planning on writing a series. It would definitely also be useful for other genres as well! The only genre I tend to avoid is romance...

​The idea is I would create a story database for your already-published book 1, then keep adding to the database for future books in the series.

How long does it take?

This is a relatively new service offering, so I'm still working that out. But I estimate a turnaround of 2 to 4 weeks, depending on the length of the book.

Finally had a chance to look through the story database. This is AWESOME. I love the format [heading styles in Word showing up in the Navigation Pane] – I can see how this would lend itself really well to a series in future. (I might write another short book in this timeline, I'm not sure. If the mood strikes.)

It's also really helpful, I think, as a tool for delving series seeds just in general. I have an idea of what the second book would be, but if I didn't, this would definitely provide some ideas! And it will make it so much easier to write that second book when I'm ready. I tend to be more of a plotter than a discovery writer except when it comes to series – and I can see how a full-on discovery writer could REALLY make use of this as an inspirational tool as well.
